Shake Station, TSCK

The primary concern with this version of the exhibit was with the table design being highly restrictive of the ability to fit the shake mechanism in there. The client demanded the this exhibit form factor allow wheelchair access underneath the table, rather than side access as with some of the other exhibits in the gallery. This meant modifying the mechanism to offset all the tallest things toward the back of the mechanism. Similarly, since the table design was shared among a number of exhibits, I wanted to change the table as minimally as possible, for maintenance reasons.

Super tight clearance between the pan protecting the mechanism from the user’s knees, the central brace and the mechanism. I don’t love this, but it’s what had to happen.
